Gypsum

GYPSUM BENEFITS

  • Increased crop yields
  • Soil de-compaction (amelioration)
  • Better moisture retention and utilization
  • Decreases nitrate and phosphate runoff
  • Blends easy with fertilizer and other nutrients (including VRT programs)
  • Low-dust application
  • Provides calcium and sulfur
    • Calcium is relatively immobile, so a constant supply is needed for the plant. Low CEC soils makes uptake even harder.
    • Sulfur is essential for protein production and the activity of enzymes, vitamins and chlorophyll formation. Sulfur also acts as a nitrogen stabilizer, reduces cold weather stress and defend against plant disease.
